Building a safer, healthier social environment for Peterborough youth to thrive.
Planet Youth Nogojiwanong, brought to you by the Peterborough Youth Substance Use Prevention (PYSUP) initiative, is a community collective rallying together for positive social change. Together, we can achieve our goal of improving the sense of connection and belonging and reducing drug and substance use among youth in Nogojiwanong/Peterborough City and County.
PYSUP is a group of community partners who want all children and youth in Peterborough City and County to thrive. We're working together to create a community-led, long-term approach to address the root causes of youth substance use before it begins. This shift will focus on creating healthy, supportive social environments and systems level change where youth feel an increased sense of belonging and connection.
The change won’t happen overnight. But we can work together, collect local data and implement youth driven interventions.
We can build a Peterborough that better supports our youth to live their best lives.

Using upstream prevention strategies, we will address the social conditions that help young people succeed. Many different parts of life can affect a young person's health and well-being, including family, school, friendships, and community. When we can strengthen these supports , young people are more likely to thrive.
